Hello summer! It appears the sun has finally got his hat on (hip, hip, hip hooray…..sorry, couldn’t resist!) although I do have quite the bead on as a result as it’s (as us Brits love to bemoan) a bit sticky to say the least! However, shouldn’t complain, we should enjoy it while it lasts. So, back to May, where there is no Lily again I’m afraid 😦 Although you’ll be pleased to hear, I do have a date booked in with her this month so she will be back! In the meantime, here are May’s best bits:
May started with a christening. I have known Fiona, maintainer of my bob, all her life as our Mums are best friends from school. And she asked me to take photos at her son Reggie’s christening. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take photos during the ceremony (boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!) but, once the formalities were over, I did manage to get this little beauty of Fiona & Reggie with her lovely parents (just before Reggie sparked out!) #feelingallthefeels
I then hot footed it straight to a product shoot for Amelie Design, the same people behind The Hairy Bulls beard combs from last month’s low down. This time there were no beards involved, instead beautiful garden furniture and planters. For an Ideal Home & colour addict like myself, it was the dream shoot in a fab location. Sadly, the stunning bright pink planter was just that bit too big to squirrel away unnoticed so I’ll just have to swoon at the photos for now. There was also a guest appearance from the company’s namesake, Missy Amelie Bull, who was up for modelling for the occasion 🙂 Oh, and very exciting – Amelie displayed some of my photos on the walls of their RHS Chelsea Flower Show stand!! So the Queen *may* have admired them…. well, in my head she did anyway!
Next up I was invited to take some pics at a champagne tasting night at our favourite local bistro, La Petite Gare. What with a low light setting and all that fizz, I think it was quite the achievement I actually managed to get some photos in focus! And that was despite being sent the wrong lens that I had ordered especially for the occasion 😦 Oh well, an excuse to go back to try it out, maybe at the Gin tasting next time?? (hint, hint!).
And finally, I finished off the month in Ibiza for a whole 10 days this time where I did my first official Ibiza photo gig for my Life Coach (see separate post here) and took probably my best photos to date (if I do say so myself!). Was proper chuffed with them. And of course, we ate, drank and got merry (see my Discovering Ibiza #2 post for more photos and info about our trip).
So that’s May. I already have a few things lined up in June which I am very much looking forward to. In the meantime, if you’d like me to take some photos for you, please complete the form on my Contact page and we’ll get something sorted 🙂
